Meditation, Identity, and Validation with Eli Ryn

Join us for this hybrid (in-person and online) event and learn from our guest knowledge sharer, Eli Ryn, about meditation, and its usage for identity exploration and validation!

Thursday, November 18th, 2021 5:00 - 6:30 PM PST

In-person: Streaming from the LGBTRC's Back Room
Online: Via Zoom

About Knowledge Speaker, Eli Ryn:
Eli Ryn (they/he) is a Black, queer, and nonbinary meditation instructor. Currently, they lead meditations for the Midwest Buddhist Temple, various community and martial arts groups, as well as providing free and sliding scale one on one sessions. As they study to become a Buddhist minister, they use their martial arts and meditation experience to bring accessible community healing options to marginalized groups and people in need, especially queer and trans people of color. His practice is grounded in meditation as an act of abolition, and he sees this communal healing as part of the radical rest that helps sustain revolutionary action.

Emergency Fund

Image advertising fund described in text, Christien Rodriguez Memorial Fund

The Christien Rodriguez Memorial Fund

This fund benefits LGBTQ students who are in crisis. Sadly, and all to commonly, parents/guardians/family find out their child is LGBTQ and reject them, take away financial support, and leave them to fend for themselves. This fund is an emergency fund to help in these types of situations as a stop-gap while students work to set up financial aid to continue their education.

If you need support from the Christien Rodriguez fund, please contact any of the professioal staff:

Davidian Bishop (Director)
