Speaker's Bureau Workshops
The Speakers Bureau is composed of a group of trained speakers who share their personal journeys as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or ally individuals on panel presentations. Educational workshops are designed and delivered by peer counselors, focusing on a range of LGBTQ+/Ally issues, or on a specific topic that is usually requested. Through lecture, discussion, panel presentations or interactive exercises, workshops are able to open up dialogue within an audience, helping participants to examine and assess their previous knowledge of LGBTQ+ issues.Audiences are encouraged to ask questions to get an idea of some of the emotions, struggles or accomplishments involved in the LGBT/Ally student or staff member's life. Panels are often presented at the conclusions of workshops, which are offered with a number of additional services.
Workshops and panels are geared towards creating a greater understanding of the LGBT community, and are available for academic classes, residence halls, cultural clubs and other campus organizations
