Program offered by doctors and students at UC Irvine's Family Health Center serving LGBTQ youth, allies, and children of LGBTQ parents. Open on Wednesdays from 6-8 pm.
The mission at UCI Health Education is to improve the health of students by reducing risk for injury and illness, and to equip the UCI community with the necessary knowledge and skills to support that goal. The Health Education Center also provides free, anonymous HIV testing for all students, faculty, and staff at UCI.
Student Health Center (SHC) is a comprehensive outpatient clinic staffed with licensed primary care physicians, dentists, optometrists, nurses certified in college health, mental health professionals, a certified Physician Assistant, a registered Nurse Practitioner, and a registered Dietitian. Medical specialists from various disciplines including Dermatology, Orthopedics/Sports Medicine, Gynecology, Internal Medicine, Ears/Nose/Throat, and Psychiatry provide on-site consultation on a regular basis.
Student Health also offers basic radiology and clinical laboratory services, insurance consultation, plus an on-site pharmacy to make this a comprehensive and convenient service to students.
The National Coalition for LGBT Health is committed to improving the health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals through federal advocacy that is focused on research, policy, education and training.
HIV & AIDS Resources
Based in Los Angeles, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is the nation's largest provider of HIV/AIDS medical care. It offers cutting-edge medicine and advocacy, regardless of ability to pay to more than 27,000 people in the United States, Africa, Central America and Asia.
AIDSinfo is a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) project that offers the latest federally approved information on HIV/AIDS clinical research, treatment and prevention, and medical practice guidelines for people living with HIV/AIDS, their families and friends, health care providers, scientists, and researchers.
AIDS Walk raises money for local organizations who care and provide services for those with HIV/AIDS.
AVERT is an international HIV and AIDS charity based in the UK, working to AVERT HIV and AIDS worldwide.
Provides HIV testing and counseling services.
Risk Reduction, Education & Community Health (REACH) Program (formerly AIDS Outreach Project) provides HIV/AIDS education and outreach to the community, including street outreach to addicts who are not in treatment and who are at high risk for contracting and transmitting HIV, TB, and other communicable diseases.
Shanti Orange County is a non-profit agency established in 1987 whose mission is to provide life enhancing services and emotional support to individuals living with HIV and AIDS.
Appointments are recommended, and testing takes place every Tuesday and Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at UCI Health Education, G319 Student Center.
