Black Queer Collective
The Black Queer Collective serves to provide a safe space for Black "LGBT" and questioning students to better define, express, explore, and create themselves. Secondly, we assume the unique ability and burden of challenging hetero-normative, transphobic, and homophobic practices within our Black community, while also critiquing the neglect of the Black experience within our Queer community. Understanding the intersections of identity, we stand in solidarity against racism and homophobia.
BQC is a social and cultural group for LGBTQ identified Black and African American students and their allies. As part of the Black Student Union, BQC meets throughout the quarter and holds events to raise awareness and create visibility for issues affecting th Black queer community.
BQC meetings are a closed space please email the group for more information about meeting times and locations.
